19th season of SOKO Donau achieves top ratings on ORF

30/04/25 – The 19th season of the crime series Soko Donau, produced by Vienna-based Satel Film, ended on Tuesday evening with top ratings. The season finale, the episode ‘Matrjoschka’, was watched once again on ORF 1 by up to 664,000 viewers (616,000 on average, 26 per cent market share). The 19th season was broadcast on Austrian television with an average of 628,000 fans and a market share of 22 per cent (12+), 21 per cent (12-29) and 18 per cent (12-49).

Domestic crime drama fans can’t get enough of Soko Donau. On average, 628,000 viewers watched the 19th season on ORF 1, in which Brigitte Kren, Lilian Klebow, Maria Happel, Andreas Kiendl, Martin Gruber and Max Fischnaller investigated in Vienna, Lower Austria and Styria, with a market share of 22 per cent (12+), 21 per cent (12-29) and 18 per cent (12-49). The episode with the highest ratings was ‘Das Schweigen der Gartenzwerge’ with up to 742,000 viewers (702,000 on average) and a market share of 24 per cent (12+) as well as 23 and 19 per cent in the young target groups 12-29 and 12-49 respectively. The season finale, the episode ‘Matrjoschka’, was also watched by up to 664,000 viewers (616,000 on average, 26 per cent market share).

.These outstanding figures mark a return to the crime series’ most successful days. The remarkable market share of 26 per cent was last achieved on 3 December 2013 with the episode ‘Undercover’ (season 9).

Soko Donau streamed on ORF ON
The ORF video streams of the current “Soko Donau” season are also used intensively by the audience: According to online video measurement (AGTT/GfK TELETEST Zensus), the live streams and videos on demand of the 19th season have so far achieved a total of around 540,000 net views, 640,000 gross views and a total usage volume of 18.4 million minutes as well as an average reach of around 33,000 per episode in Austria.

Domestic productions are indispensable
