28/05/24 – After “Der Metzger traut sich” Satel Film is producing “The Metzger – Mordstheater” for ServusTV with Simon Schwarz in the role of the hobby-detective Willibald Adrian Metzger. Peter Koller wrote the script based on “Der Metzger holt den Teufel” and, as in the first part, the film is directed by Michael Podogil.
The local TV critics were overwhelmed: “This is what television has to look like these days,” “one of the best TV crime dramas of the year” – was the media response after the first film “Der Metzger traut sich”, which was released in October 2023 on ServusTV. Now the crime series is being continued with “The Metzger – Mordstheater”. The focus of the film, produced by Satel Film for ServusTV, is once again the quirky restorer Willibald Adrian Metzger (Simon Schwarz), who accidentally stumbles into crime and other turbulences. The Metzger is accompanied by his lady Danjela Djurkovic (Valery Tscheplanowa) and his friend and caretaker Petar Wollnar (Christoph Krutzler). Other roles to be seen include Thomas Mraz, Alev Irmak, Laurin Saied, Lilian Klebow, Gerhard Liebmann and Lukas Watzl. Filming has been going on since mid-May in places such as the “Plabutscher Schlössl” in Graz, the Graz Central Cemetery and the Baumgartnerhöhe in Vienna.
