Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Frank Schmolke, the new series “Nachts im Paradies/Night in Paradise” from Windlight Pictures and Satel Film was shot in Berlin and Brussels. The six-part miniseries focuses on a father and his daughter whose lives are turned upside down in one night.

Jürgen Vogel (Die Welle) plays the role of Vincent, a taxi driver who, together with his daughter Anna, searches for a way out of the hell of late capitalism in a big city at night. Lea Drinda (Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo) plays his daughter Anna. Vincent has to accept that he is no longer needed: His profession is dying out and his daughter wants nothing to do with him. Anna manages on her own – as she always has. But the apocalyptic events of one fateful Oktoberfest night lead to their paths crossing again. Birgit Minichmayr (The Chess Novel) and Leonard Scheicher (Das Boot) also star in the film. The script was written by Matthias Glasner (Das Boot) and Hannah Schopf (Tiger Girl), with Glasner also directing most of the series alongside Bettina Oberli (Wanda, mein Wunder).
