05/05/25 – New addition to ‘Die Toten von Salzburg’: Patricia Aulitzky joins the team of investigators led by audience favourites Fanny Krausz, Michael Fitz and Erwin Steinhauer. In the new episode of the successful ORF/ZDF series, produced by Satel Film, the death of a tour guide in the Hallein salt mine has to be solved. ‘Die letzte Reise’ will be filmed until mid-May. The film is directed by Erhard Riedlsperger and written by Stefan Brunner.
A tour guide is found dead in the Hallein salt mine. To the annoyance of the investigators, the discovery throws their work-life balance into disarray. In addition, her new, motivated colleague Ludovika (Lu) Frey (Patricia Aulitzky) joins the team and injects some real vigour into the investigation. At the autopsy table, the Austrian wife and the German, heavily pregnant partner of the victim meet, but they knew nothing about each other. A new episode of the successful ORF/ZDF series ‘Die Toten von Salzburg’ has been filming since the end of April. Fanny Krausz (Irene Russmeyer), Michael Fitz (Hubert Mur) and Erwin Steinhauer (Hofrat Seywald) are once again taking part. The guest and supporting roles are high-calibre-cast. In addition to the popular main cast of Nikolaus Barton, Helmut Bohatsch, Sebastian Edtbauer, Michael Schönborn and Natalie O’Hara, Dany Sigel, Edi Jäger, Julia Rosa Peer, Michael Fuith, Ronald Seboth, Jonathan Beck, Maximilian Modl, Nayana Heuer, Runa Schymanski, Max Ortner, Beate Constanze Pitronik, Alyssandra Singh, Hans Sandhu and Torsten Hermentin are also in front of the camera this time. The screenplay was written by Stefan Brunner. Erhard Riedlsperger is in the director’s chair and Kai Longolius is responsible for the spectacular images. This time, filming will take place in Hallein and at the Salzwelten in Bad Dürrnberg, the Salzburg Mozarteum, Kapuzinerberg and Domplatz as well as at Café Bazar.
Patricia Aulitzky: ‘I’m delighted to be playing one of the leading roles in such a popular and successful crime series – especially because this production adds humour to the suspense and sets itself apart from others.’ She plays the former target investigator Ludovika (Lu) Frey (45), who once left Salzburg as a twenty-something and returns because of her demented mother. “Lu has a love-hate relationship with Salzburg – a reflection of her inner conflict between her origins and her return. She approaches her new job with her usual professionalism, spiced up with a good dose of sarcasm. For me, Lu is direct, sporty, slightly rebellious and has a dry sense of humour,” explains Aulitzky. For the Salzburg native, the role is a homecoming. “I always enjoy filming in Salzburg – the city of my birth, with which I have many fond memories and long-standing friendships. So I’m all the more pleased to be able to spend a little more time there again now.”
Successful series export made in Austria
“Die Toten von Salzburg” is produced by Heinrich Ambrosch, Managing Director of Satel Film. He thus relies on a proven team that regularly ensures top ratings at home and abroad. With a market share of up to 32 per cent on ORF and up to 25 per cent on ZDF, “Die Toten von Salzburg” has exceeded all our expectations. “We are delighted to welcome Patricia Aulitzy, a new investigator, to the team. Together we are opening a new chapter and continuing this success story,” reports Ambrosch. Sabine Weber (ORF) and Daniel Blum (ZDF) are responsible for the programme.

As a production company, Satel Film is a licence holder (UW1481) of UZ 76, the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Producing. Therefore, “Die Toten von Salzburg – Die letzte Reise” is also produced according to these green guidelines.

The body of a handsome tour guide is found in the Hallein salt mine. The head and upper body are in Germany, the loins and legs in Austria. But this time neither Salzburg nor Traunstein want to take over the investigation. Mur is as good as on a winning cruise, Russmeyer is rehearsing for a musical role and Seywald is at a less-stress-in-two-weeks seminar with Rene to save the relationship. It’s only when new Salzburg colleague and former target investigator Ludovika (Lu) Frey (45) – who once fled Salzburg as a twenty-something and is now back because of her mother’s dementia – starts work early on that things get moving: the Austrian wife and the German, heavily pregnant partner of the victim, who knew nothing about each other, meet at the autopsy table.
