Television premiere of ‘Der Garmisch-Krimi – Wolfsmord’ on 21 February on ServusTV and ServusTV On

19/01/26 – On 21 February at 8:15 p.m., ‘Der Garmisch-Krimi – Wolfsmord’ will celebrate its free-TV premiere on ServusTV and ServusTV On. The two dissimilar detectives Ira Zach (Lavinia Wilson) and Daphne Meindl (Philine Schmölzer) must solve the murder of a conservationist and uncover a conspiracy. The new Saturday crime drama is produced by Ula Okrojek (Satel Film) and Karsten Günther (Bavaria Fiction). It is directed by Saralisa Volm.

In ‘Der Garmisch-Krimi – Wolfsmord’ former police inspector Ira Zach (Lavinia Wilson) and her young successor Daphne Meindl (Philine Schmölzer) form an unlikely investigative duo in Garmisch – mainly because one of them is no longer allowed to investigate, but now works in a DIY store. The wolf is causing a stir in the region, and numerous sheep killings are dividing the population into wolf opponents and supporters. When the chairman of the Nature Conservation Union is murdered and Daphne gets nowhere with her investigations, she seeks advice from Ira. Ira suspects that there are far greater interests behind the killing of the sheep.

High-profile TV event for ServusTV and ZDF
Following the success of ‘Im Netz der Camorra’ Satel Film is producing another TV event for ServusTV and ZDF in collaboration with Bavaria Fiction: ‘Der Garmisch-Krimi – Wolfsmord’. Filming took place last March in Garmisch, Innsbruck, Hall, Imst and Stans. Other roles are played by Michael Kranz, Harald Windisch, Sophie Borchhardt, Marcel Mohab, Max von Thun, Johanna Bittenbinder, Sophie Stockinger, Edita Malovčić, Anna Rot, Ben Münchow, Hans Stadlbauer, Gerhard Wittmann, Simon Pearce, Sevda Polat, Michael A. Grimm and many more.

The screenplay was written by Leona Stahlmann and Niklas Hoffmann. Saralisa Volm directed the film, and cinematographer Roland Stuprich was responsible for its visual design. The new Saturday crime drama will premiere on 21 February at 8:15 p.m. on free-to-air television on ServusTV and ServusTV On. A week later, on 28 February at 8:15 p.m., the new production will also be shown on ZDF.

Ula Okrojek, producer at Satel Film: ‘At the heart of this thrilling story are two women who not only solve a crime but also face their own limitations. The wolf becomes a symbol of a reality that currently affects many Alpine communities. The Tyrolean mountains in particular lend the film additional emotional and visual impact.’

Karsten Günther, producer at Bavaria Fiction: “At the heart of our Garmisch crime thriller are two extraordinary female characters, played with great presence and palpable passion by Lavinia Wilson and Philine Schmölzer. The German-Austrian border region, with its mountains and rugged beauty, becomes a defining protagonist in the story. With the theme of the wolf culling permit, we tackle a highly emotional conflict and tell an atmospheric crime story that deliberately allows for different perspectives and invites the audience to form their own opinions.”

Environmentally friendly production
Satel Film attaches great importance to climate protection during filming. ‘Der Garmisch-Krimi – Wolfsmord’ was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Producing in Film and Television. The production company uses environmentally friendly green electricity, avoids the use of diesel generators and prefers to travel by train rather than by plane, provided that the destination can be reached within five hours by rail. All areas of production, including materials for sets, scenery and props, costumes and make-up, technology, catering and accommodation, are checked for sustainability.

‘Der Garmisch-Krimi – Wolfsmord’ is a production by Satel Film GmbH and Bavaria Fiction for ServusTV and ZDF, funded by Fisa+, Film in Austria (ABA), Fernsehfonds Austria (RTR) and Cine Tirol Film Commission.
