Fans of gripping Austrian crime dramas produced with great attention to detail should mark January 4th in their calendars, as ORF 2 will be showing the premiere of the 10th episode of “Die Toten von Salzburg” at 8:15 pm. Screenwriter Peter Koller and director Erhard Riedlsperger prove their flair for current issues, as “Sweet Poison” is about a new biogas plant that is supposed to turn the energy revolution into a success. What sounds tempting in theory turns out to be a nightmare in practice. The chauffeur of the Bavarian energy minister drops dead out of his state limousine! Diagnosis: poison inside a Mozartkugel! Now it’s up to investigators Fanny Krausz (Irene Russmeyer, Salzburg CID), Michael Fitz (Chief Inspector Hubert Mur) and Erwin Steinhauer (Hofrat Alfons Seywald) to track down the murderer, a trail that leads them all the way to an Azerbaijani gas prince.
